Sears credit cards are great for consumers to own; they offer savings on purchases, and allow the consumer to pay for purchases over time. Sears is the largest supplier of credit card services for all retail stores, both in the US and Canada. The quickest way to make payments is using the online Sears payment center system. Sears Canada allows consumers to make up to four payments in the month, for no charge; Sears accounts are managed by Citigroup. Therefore, consumers must register on Citigroup’s site before being able to make online payments on their Sears credit cards online.
Registering an online account requires users to create a user ID in order to access the account information. If you are just registering for the first time, you will be required to enter certain information to create the account, and to ensure that your identity is fully protected. Information you need to enter includes: name, DOB, address, social security number, email address, and other information as required. Once you have registered with Citigroup, it will direct you to the Sears payment online services page.
In order to make payments using the online venue, consumers are required to manually enter the information of their bank accounts, in order to have a payment method where the funds are to be withdrawn from (the information is to be entered in the boxes provided on the page). The information which is to be entered is your checking account number, the routing number, Bank name, and the personal information of the account holder. To find the relevant information, you can obtain these digits from the bottom of one of your checks, and you can find your bank’s information on their site (if required to enter information you aren’t aware of.)
After you have registered a method of payment by entering your checking account information, you must now create a username and password in order to be able to login to your Sears payment online services page. The system will guide you through the process, and will prompt you to choose and answer one or two security questions, in the event that you forget your password. These questions will be used to identify that you are the account holder, which will then allow Sears to send you any information you might need. Once you have finished the process just click done at the bottom of the page to move forward to the payment page.
Once these initial steps are complete you can activate your Sears Canada credit card payments using the online forum. You will only need to enter this information once, and every time you are ready to make a payment on your account all you have to do is log in to the site. You will use your created password and username, and the system has already stored your bank information and checking account, therefore you will not need to enter a new method of payment every time you are ready to make a payment online. Although the initial process is lengthy, once complete it’s a cinche to make online payments.
